When it doesn’t work, most of the time for me it’s because there’s negative space within the image, so you have to break apart the entire object/path so each section is it’s own object/path. Then I’ll go to params in the ink/stitch menu and adjust my stitch distance, this is also where I see if it works or not. Then once you have the vector path (or whatever it’s technically called) you can resize it. It’ll render directly on top of the image so you scoot the top layer over and delete the original image layer, or I go to the layer menu and just delete the image layer which to me is quicker. I then go to trace bitmap up top and let it do it’s thing. I’ll save a black and white image from online, usually a png file, and drag or import into Inkscape. I don't quite understand what that means, and can't find anything that looks wrong in the vector, even when troubleshooting the problem. I successfully got it to work a couple times by sheer luck it seems, but most of the time I get an error message saying something about the fill line crossing the border. Same when I go to embroider for the render. Once I have something made, by either bitmap tracing or just making something simple like a circle, I'll go into params and if it works I'll see the stitching preview, otherwise I'll get an error code. So far I've been using Inkscape with Ink/Stitch to make the vector, which is something new for me as well. I recently got a Brother embroidery machine and I'm looking to convert image files to the PES format using a Mac.
